What to Expect

Saco Walk-In Care will be available for minor pet emergencies during daytime hours. We will partner with your regular veterinarian to provide the acute care your pet needs when they are unavailable or while you are vacationing in Maine. Simply walk in between 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries and illnesses.

Upon arrival, your cat or dog will be quickly triaged and seen in the order of severity–similar to a human urgent care facility. Our experienced veterinarians and technicians have access to a complete in-house diagnostic laboratory and state-of-the-art radiology equipment for swift treatment.

Your pet can be seen in a timely manner to ensure the continuance of their preventative health care needs. Our walk-in services include examinations, vaccinations, in-house diagnostic testing such as Heartworm/Tick test, Senior wellness Screen, Fecal Check and more. With a complete onsite pharmacy, we can also provide Heartworm, Flea and Tick medications, prescription diets and prescription medications your pet may need upon exam.

Following treatment, all records will be forwarded to your regular veterinarian for follow-up, if needed. If your pet is in need of significant medical attention (i.e. surgery), our team will stabilize your cat or dog for a safe transfer to a nearby veterinary emergency and specialty care hospital.

We strongly recommend that you call before you arrive to avoid unnecessary delay – 207-571-9580 – Thank you

NOTE: If the walk-in visit is related to an ongoing medical condition, or your pet is on any medications, please ask your veterinarian to forward the medical records as it can eliminate unnecessary diagnostic testing.
